OT BABY!!!

I am (was, the original post i was drafting got erased)on such a high! no its not from lack of sleep or any other drug, its football fever. Today i watched 2 increadibly exciting ending games. Its playoff time in the NFL and today was day one of the 2 day wildcard matchups. But wouldnt you think that like the last place team should play for the wildcard? i mean the 5th or whatever team really isnt a wildcard, they are pretty good. a wildcard would be a team near the bottom of the pile. but anyway,
Game 1: St Louis Rams at Seattle Seahawks. I only say the first little bit and then the end of the game, but wow the end was entertaining. seattle was down by some amount (while i was gone) and had come back to tie it at 20. then the rams had a drive and scored, 27-20 rams. seattle gets it down to just about the rams 10, 1st and 10 (about a foot short of 1st and goal). I cant remember exactly what happened, but they end up at about the same spot on 4th down, and they need a major and the point after to send it to OT. theres the snap, hasselbeck has it, scrambles a bit, looks like he might run, THROWS A LOW ONE TO A RECEIVER, THE RECEIVER LOOKS LIKE HE HAS IT, but then THE BALL COMES LOOSE, INCOMPLETE PASS!!! RAMS WIN!!! ( i personally was kinda cheering for the rams (sorry sis) but i woulda been happy with the seahawks as well. really i wanted them to score cuz OT is sweet, well actually CFL OT is sweet, im not sure about the NFL one. CFL OT the teams take turns taking the ball on like the 40 and if the first team scores (or doesnt) the other team gets a chance to meet or beat the other team. if they dont, game over team on wins. if they meet, they do it again. if they beat team 2 wins. Its good because then you are always trying for the TD rather than settling for a FG. The NFL is like restarting the game (without the challange flag, the coolest thing ever) and the first team to score wins. this means that a FG will win it, the other team doenst have a chance to match it.)
Game 2: New York Jets at San Diego Chargers. My pick: chargers (i think they have one of the worst logos in the NFL though. It looks really cool on their helmots and jerseys, but on like hats or coats it looks kinda funny.) Chargers strike first with a really nice catch. jets take the lead and it ends up going into the 4th quarter with NY up by 10. chargers start with a great drive and get down the field but have to settle for a field goal. 7 point lead for jets. both teams have some chances, nothing really close and the chargers are running out of time. then SD gets a good drive going. they end up with 3rd and goal from the 1. they run and lose a yard or so. 4th and goal from the 2 or 3 with 30 seconds left. they need a touchdown (and the point after) to end it to OT. the snap, Brees backs up, hes gonna pass, Dodges a tackle, ANOTHER GUY IS COMING, GETS THE PASS OFF JUST AS HE IS BEING TACKELED, ITS A LOB INTO THE ENDZONE, ITS UP FOR GRAPS, KNOCKED DOWN BY THE DEFENCE, ITS KNOCKED DOWN!! GAME OVER, JETS W...but wait, A FLAG A FLAG IS DOWN, CHARGERS HAVE A CHANCE the ref walks over to, ah, the talking area, a hush falls over the crowd, the ref turns his mic on, "Personal foul, rushing the passer (crowd goes wild), defence number 50, personal foul, blow to the head, defence number fifty, automatic first down" (mic off) It is now 1st and goal from the 1 with 30 seconds. first play, TD pass to Gates. Kaeding comes out and kicks the extra point, its OVERTIME BABY!!!
First comes the coin toss, visitor calls it, call heads. coin is flipped, tails (crowd goes wild), chargers choose to receive (duh), and overtime is underway. Chargers get a good drive going but get stuck on 2nd and 3rd and 1. 4th down around midfield and out comes the punting squad. jets get it and have a decent drive but are stopped by chrager defence. punt goes into the endzone, chargers start on the 20. they get a great drive going and get into field goal range, then get another first down. then the plays that make me not like NFL OT as much, 3 running plays in which the runner gets a total of like 3 yards overall. 4th down and a 40 yard FG attempt. Jets call a timeout to psyc out the kicker. ball is snapped, kick is up, looks bad, bad, bad, WIDE RIGHT!!! the game continues. jets get a drive going themselves. get into field goal range and then some. they end up on about the 10 yard line. out comes the kicker (on the 3rd down, a good thing according to madden). ball is snapped, kick is up, looks good, looks . . . A WHISTLE, theres a whistle, the ball goes throught the uprights but a whistle first. chargers coach called a time out at the last second. they try it all again, snap, kick, looks good, good, good, ITS GOOD!!! THE KICK WAS PERFECT!!! JETS WIN!!! (and the crowd goes silent). what an ending. the terrible penalty at the end of regulation does not come back to bite Barton in the butt. and the great day of football comes to a close.
WOW, I LOVE PLAYOFF SPORTS. those were 2 intense crazy games coming down to the wire. I cant wait til tomorrow and 2 more games :).
