Ian's Health

Hey everyone,
Here is a health update for you. I am going to attempt to post updates now and then on my blog ( http://latenightreading.blogspot.com )and thus not have to spam everyone with emails.

Well it has been quite a while since my last update. Things since that time have improved. My chemo dose has been changed up and down but we seem to be at a good level now and it will hopefully remain here for a while (down is good too though). I have been experiencing some queasiness from the drugs but I have some other drugs that I can take to reduce it. As for my prednisone, it is slowly being reduced, I will be nearly off it at the end of October and then the last little bit will be even more slowly phased out. My newest prescription (which sadly is not a real one) is bananas as my potassium levels are low (not sure why but when in doubt blame the drugs). These low levels have resulted in some cramping in my feet and calves.

Sure looks like I painted a bleak picture there, but that was not my intention. For the last month I have been feeling quite good. As long as I avoid prolonged (more that 1-5 minutes) exercise I feel quite normal. I have been back at work quarter time for 3 weeks and I am enjoying it. I go in mid morning and stay for a couple hours, do some work, feel like I accomplished something and head home before I get stressed out, tired or bored. I will keep up the quarter time until the end of the month when I see my doctor again and then potentially increase it a bit more from there.

So the overall jist is that I am feeling much better. My strength and energy levels have improved. I am by no means back to the levels I was in the spring but I feel like a normal person for most of the time. Everything seems to be improving slowly and that is fine with me.

Hope to talk to all of you again soon.

Ian
